Don’t forget to customise you FD!!

But what are the options? Check out the whole reel for the details!

Almost all banks allow customisation on their website, before you book your FD!
So make sure, you take advantage of that.

Also, in cumulative FD most FDs are quarterly compounding but the period of compounding might change from bank to bank.

For the MATH that I said will be in caption:

Taking an example of an FD in Deutsche Bank, this is how Annualized Yield is calculated:

Amount invested = Rs. 10,000

Interest Rate = 7.5% p.a.

Number of Years = 5

Total Interest Earned during the tenure: Rs. 4,499.48

Interest earned each year = Interest/ Number of years = 4,499.48/5 = Rs. 899.90

Annualised Yield = (Interest earned each year/ Amount invested) x 100 = (899.90/10,000) * 100 = 9%

(Please Note: The above calculations are indicative and gross of TDS and the final interest amount will depend on the tenure and interest rate applicable on the date of request of Fixed Deposit.)

Currently, banks have the following rates:

SBI (w.e.f. 15/02/2023)

- 2 years to less than 3 years - 7% p.a (AY: 7.19%)
- 3 years to less than 5 years - 6.5% p.a (AY: 6.66%)

HDFC Bank (Applicable from 21st Feb, 2023)

- 2 years to less than 5 years - 7% p.a.

Deutsche Bank

- 2 years to less than 3 years - 7.5% p.a. (AY: 8.32%)
- 3 years to less than 5 years - 7.5% p.a. (AY: 9%)

IDFC Bank

- 2 years to less than 3 years - 7.5% p.a.
- 3 years to less than 5 years - 7% p.a.

(Please note Interest rates are subject to change from time to time.)
