Is New York the worst city to buy a house?

The typical value of a home in Manhattan is now $1.2 million. Which has gone down over the last year but is still ridiculously high.

Worse yet - buying a nice house in NYC suburbs like Long Island and Westchester will also cost buyers close to $1 million.

Prices in NYC are high because the area is wealthy and doesn't build many new homes. Which keeps inventory low.

Making it unlikely that NYC will crash, even though the market is still 12% overvalued.
