Robert Kiyosaki is an American entrepreneur, author, and speaker best known for his book "Rich Dad Poor Dad." Born in 1947 in Hilo, Hawaii, Kiyosaki was raised by his mother and father, who were both educators. He graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1969 and served as a helicopter gunship pilot in the Vietnam War.

After leaving the military, Kiyosaki worked for the Xerox Corporation before starting his own business selling wallets made of nylon and Velcro. He later founded an education company that offered financial education seminars and courses.

Kiyosaki gained widespread recognition with the publication of his book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" in 1997. The book became a bestseller and has since sold over 32 million copies worldwide. It is a personal finance classic that advocates financial independence and building wealth through entrepreneurship, real estate investing, and other passive income streams.

Kiyosaki has written over 20 books, including "Cashflow Quadrant," "Rich Dad's Guide to Investing," and "The Business of the 21st Century." He is also a prolific speaker and has conducted financial education seminars around the world.
