Wild rallies in small-cap Chinese stocks have returned, as traders gamble on their potential for massive gains. Top Financial Group Ltd., ticker TOP, an online brokerage, led the surge, with its shares soaring as much as 785% in US trading on Friday. Other small and micro-cap Chinese companies, such as Magic Empire Global Ltd. (MEGL) and Golden Sun Education Group Ticker symbol GSUN, also experienced sharp increases in share prices. The spikes in share prices are due to these small companies having a limited pool of shares available for trading, mostly held by insiders. This means that significant rallies can be fueled by just a few traders who spark broader interest from retail investors.
